Alencon is a Hatboro, PA-based power electronics manufacturer that specializes in PV inverters and DC optimizers called “SPOTs” (String Power Optimizers and Transmitters). In 2016, Alencon engaged with ProtoGen to assist it in commercializing the SPOT. ProtoGen’s duties include building a business case around the technology; identifying and negotiating a test site; equipment installation and operation; and data gathering and analysis.
