HybridFAST was created as an internal tool for facilitating conversations around the financial implications of grid-interactive photovoltaic (PV) systems, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and hybrid systems utilizing both. HybridFAST is made available for free under a Creative Commons license. There are no macros, and all calculations can easily be reverse-engineered, inspected, and modified. With a minimal investment of time and practice, it can be easily utilized by anyone wishing to understand the financial implications of PV, BESS, and Hybrid systems.
Conversations about the future of our electrical grid are complex. This tool is meant to organize, unify, and enrich those conversations by providing a framework that enables stakeholders to explore new revenue stacks for distributed energy resources (DER) collaboratively, and with intention.
Our hope is to drive grid modernization through increased DER investment. By releasing HybridFAST publicly, we also hope that users will leverage ProtoGen’s expertise to get the most out of the tool and their projects.
