COMMERCIAL ELECTRIC STAKEHOLDER PROCESS AND RECOMMENDATION REPORT

Technical lead for Borough Energy Committee addressing the local municipal electric utility’s rates and value proposition for ratepayers. Reviewed the utility’s existing supply contracts. Designed and implemented a stakeholder process to gather input from commercial/industrial customers. Identified nine energy projects totaling 6,500 kWDC of grid- and distributed-scale PV, BESS and CHP. Developed economic analyses for each project as a utility-owned and customer-owned asset considerate of the utility’s associated opportunity cost. Provided regional and per-project site plans, basis of design documents and architectural renderings. Compiled findings report with recommendations. Deliverables included contract and regulatory review, market visioning and economic development strategy, site evaluation, project feasibility and planning, technical and financial modeling, and regulatory review. The project led to commercial development of a 1.9MW CHP-PV hybrid energy project with future energy storage provisions for Quaker Color.
